Records
Below are the club's current bicycle records. Veteran records are for those aged 40 and above. The club has some long standing records such as the 24 hour record set in 1965. Richard Langman's record of 424.75 miles is yet to be beaten. Richard was also the club champion in the same year.
A popular club record over the years has been the 25 mile Time Trial, with many club members attempting to beat it. It was first set in 1932 by V Harris with a time of 1h 10m. Six time club champion David Slater was the first Withington Wheeler to get under the magic hour with a time of 59.03 in the Doncaster Wheelers 25 on 10 May 1981. The current 25 mile record may stand for some time. It was set by Darren Maironis in 2013. Darren recorded the first sub-50 minute ride (over 30mph!) by a Withy Wheeler when he recorded 49.59.
The full club history of the 25 record can be read here.

His time of 7 hours 40 minutes for the Withington-Shrewsbury-Withington Tricycle record still stands today. The Herbert Whitbread Trophy is awarded annually to the rider achieving the greatest mileage in a 24 hour Time Trial.
